Rúben Dias Makes a Promise: “We Won't Recover What We Lost, But…”

Rúben Dias took to social media to express his gratitude, not only to the Portuguese fans but also to his teammates.

“A huge thank you to everyone who, in the best way or even the most irrational, cheered us on and supported us from start to finish. To all my teammates, it was once again a pleasure to bleed on the field with all of you,” he wrote.

One day after the national team's elimination from the World Cup in the round of 16, at the hands of Spain, the 29-year-old defender made a promise.

“We will return. Not to recover what we lost, but to conquer what we still lack,” he added, concluding with a certainty: “We live and learn.”
