Princess Ingrid Alexandra and her brother, Prince Sverre Magnus, were seen enthusiastically cheering from the stands during the Norway-Brazil match at the 2026 World Cup.
Images of the 22-year-old future Queen of Norway celebrating the national team's first goal quickly went viral. Breaking from typical royal protocol, Ingrid Alexandra openly displayed her emotion, vibrantly reacting to the players' performance. Beside her, her 20-year-old brother, Sverre Magnus, shared in the same joy.
The 2-1 victory led the royal siblings to the Norwegian locker room, where they exchanged words and hugs – even with shirtless players – with Erling Haaland and his teammates.
Ingrid is the eldest daughter of Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit, and granddaughter of King Harald V. She is second in line to the throne, behind her father, and is expected to one day become the second woman to reign over the country, following Queen Margaret in the 15th century.
After completing 15 months of military service and a period of studying abroad, she returned to Norway to support her mother, Princess Mette-Marit, 50, who is facing a delicate health recovery period following a lung transplant.
