Legendary former striker Romário has joined the chorus of critics calling for the Brazilian Football Confederation to dismiss Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti. Despite Ancelotti signing a contract through to the end of the 2030 World Cup, local media reports suggest the federation has no immediate plans to prematurely terminate his deal following the team's disappointing performance at the North American World Cup.
Romário was present at the MetLife Stadium as a commentator for the match and was even photographed embracing Ancelotti before the ill-fated clash with Norway.
"There's no way Ancelotti can continue as coach of the Brazilian national team after this fiasco, this disgrace he brought upon us in the match against Norway. I would tear up that contract and tell him to take it to court," Romário declared to Liberta Depre.
