The striker who was signed from Manchester United this summer connected a head from a Caner Erkin's cross.

Fenerbahce will host the return leg as the aim to book a place in the group stages of the competition.

The striker Van Persie believes his first goal for the club has set the Turkish side on their way to the UEFA Europa League's group stages.
