Poland international Robert Lewandowski striker has landed himself in trouble with the law in his home country and could be wanted by the police.
An anonymous complainer has reported to the police about the striker’s act of drinking champagne on the pitch while celebrating Poland qualifying for Euro 2016.
The 27-year-old was pictured drinking from a celebratory bottle following Poland’s crucial 2-1 victory over Ireland at Warsaw's National Stadium which saw them through to next year’s finals in France.
The act is against Poland’s Act on Safety of Mass Events, which states that the consumption 'can only take place in designated areas'.
Even though Police in Poland have revealed that the report will be treated seriously, his agent Cezary Kucharski think the striker won’t be bothered by it.
“We don't take this matter seriously,” Kucharski told Polish website SportoweFakty.
“I hope that the FA will strive to ensure that they can explain the situation. I don't want Robert to have to bother with such trifle.”
National teammate of Lewandoski, Kamil Glik who plays for Torino took to Twitter to poke fun at the matter.
“I also drank, can I expect a phone call?” he asked before president of the Polish FA Zbigniew Boniek replied him saying the Italian Military Police were 'on their way', and that he should 'get in touch'.
