Gourna-Douath joined Salzburg in the summer of 2022 from Saint-Etienne for approximately 13 million euros, a club-record signing at the time. He played a total of 95 matches for the Austrian side but didn't quite live up to the high expectations. Recently, he had loan spells at AS Roma and Le Havre.
