Leipzig representatives, led by sporting director Marcel Schäfer, insist the Ivorian international will remain at the club for the upcoming season. However, coach Martin Demichelis sounded less certain over the weekend.

"He has a contract here. Marcel Schäfer needs to sort out everything else," Demichelis stated.

The 19-year-old Diomande joined Leipzig a year ago from Spanish club Leganes on a contract until 2030, with no release clause. He scored 12 goals and provided 9 assists in the Bundesliga last season, also making a significant impact at the recent World Cup.

Leipzig rejected an initial offer of up to 100 million euros from Real Madrid, but negotiations are ongoing, as reported by "The Athletic." Leipzig had previously turned down a similar bid from English club Liverpool. The "Royals" are expected to submit a new proposal soon.

According to German newspaper "Bild," the club is demanding at least 120 million euros to consider releasing the winger this summer. However, Leipzig is reportedly keen on retaining Diomande for at least another year and is prepared to offer him an improved contract. Their third-place finish last season ensures Diomande will have the opportunity to play in the Champions League.

The African star has already agreed to personal terms with both Real Madrid and PSG, with the Spanish giants currently appearing to be the favorites for his signature.
