Rayo Vallecano secured a crucial 1-0 victory over Elche in La Liga's 30th matchday, just days before their pivotal European clash against AEK in the Conference League.
Following the match, Iñigo Pérez spoke to the press, expressing his satisfaction with the win, while specifically highlighting the upcoming encounter with the Greek side on Thursday (9/4, 19:45 CET).
"We are completely satisfied, as we managed to overcome a difficult hurdle. We're also pleased with Randy's goal because we lacked the ingenuity to break down their defense, and with him, we gained a presence in the box. Even though we had a numerical advantage, we lacked clear thinking," the Rayo coach initially stated.
He then shifted his focus to the match against the Greek team: "We've taken a very important step, but on Thursday, we have a date with history. This victory gives us momentum for that game. It's very positive that we secured these three points before such a historic moment. I believe preparing for Thursday is easier than playing against Elche."
