Manchester United open striker's talks with Monaco

Despite his slow start at life in England, Manchester United could be set to sign striker Radamel Falcao on a permanent deal.

According to a report, Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward held talks with Monaco on Sunday, April 19 over the striker’s future.

Monaco vice president Vadim Vasiyvev told Daily Mail that he met with Ed Woodward on Sunday and revealed that the club said are yet to decide on the future of the Colombian striker.

"I saw the Manchester United people last Sunday and they have not yet decided if they would exercise the option," Vadim Vasiyvev said.

"It’s not his best season, but they kept the opportunity to make a decision at the end of the season."

After the end of Falcao's loan deal from Monaco to Manchester United, the 20-times English Champions are reportedly obliged to pay £43.5m to sign the forward on a permanent deal under the terms of the original loan deal.

But Vasilyev revealed that the transfer fee will be negotiated if Manchester United is interested in keeping the Colombian.
