Readers say high heel shoes should not be banned

In a case where a young man was brutalised and almost has his eye pierced by his girlfriend where she used her high heel shoes as a weapon, the young man has written a petition to the Inspector general of Police, recommending a ban on the use of the shoes.

His reasoning is that some women use it a s a weapon and can easily kill a man with them

So on Pulse Nigeria Poll yesterday, we asked this question: Should high heel shoes be banned in Nigeria?

Majority of Pulse Nigeria readers who voted said they are against any ban of high heel shoes, and expectedly, most of them were women. A Total of 58.3% of voters were against it while 41.7% agreed that the shoes should be banned.
