Marco Antonelli, father of Mercedes driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli, has firmly dismissed claims by Prince Albert of Monaco that the family is planning to relocate to the Principality. Antonelli Sr. stated that the family is very happy at their current home in San Marino and sees no reason to move.

The response comes following comments made by the Monegasque monarch to Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, suggesting the teenage sensation was considering a move to Monte Carlo. Speaking to Il Resto del Carlino in an interview published on October 6, the young driver's father clarified that he had no idea where the rumours originated.

"We feel very settled here and have no need for a change at the moment. I have lived in San Marino for seven years, and my son has always loved this place," emphasized Marco Antonelli.

The family's connection to the microstate extends beyond just residency—Marco Antonelli's racing team is also based there. Kimi has frequently praised the peaceful atmosphere of his hometown. Speaking at the "Sport in Fiera" event on September 19, as quoted by Italpress, the future Formula 1 driver said: "I feel really great in such a quiet and calm environment." He added that he increasingly values the opportunity to spend downtime at home in San Marino.

San Marino's Secretary of State for Sport, Rossano Fabbri, also confirmed he has no knowledge of any impending relocation for Antonelli. While the family's remarks reflect their immediate plans and do not entirely rule out future decisions down the line, speculation linking the driver with a move to Monaco has been firmly put to bed for now.
