Swansea 1 Vs Liverpool 2: ‘Title talks’ a far reach for Liverpool
Despite their 2-1 win away from home at Swansea, Jürgen Klopp’s men did not do enough to convince me. Much has been said about their free scoring forwards but against Swansea the Reds’ were stifled.
On their day, the pace with which Liverpool attack can crush any opposition, but when they are not on form, they can be frustrating. Klopp once describes his style of play as ‘heavy metal’ but at Liverpool, I’m not sure he has the squad depth to maintain the intensity of a ‘heavy metal’ for one full season.
A top four finish should be the target this season.

Hull City 0 Vs Chelsea 2: Conte needs Hazard to achieve top four dreams
Antonio Conte’s target for his first season at Chelsea should be a top four finish. Realistically, that should be his main focus, any cup success is just an add-on. To achieve that, Conte needs Eden Hazard to replicate half of the form that got him the PFA Player of the year as Chelsea won the league in 2015.
Against Hull City, Chelsea struggled despite getting a 2-0 win. A club of Chelsea’s status should be blowing away a club like Hull City home and away. If Conte wants to achieve top four success, Hazard must return to form.
Manchester United 1 Vs Stoke City 1: Mourinho’s boys out of title talks
At this point, we should all agree that Manchester United won’t be in the title conversations this season. It’s already clear, the team is not just good enough. Admitted, they were good against Stoke City and it was one of their best performances this season. But taking just a point from a home game with Stoke City even with your best performance tells a lot about the quality of the team.
It will be a huge success if Jose Mourinho gets the Manchester United team to the top four this season but any title talk should be put to bed for now.

Tottenham 2 Vs Manchester City 0: Spurs high intensity hard to sustain
Tottenham were too much for Manchester City, blowing away the Citizens 2-0 at White Hart Lane. Mauricio Pochettino men were so intense and scary. They pressed so hard from City’s half and didn’t allow them to pass from the back.
Spurs were impressive but the way they ran from the start to finish will be hard to sustain with a young and thin squad. What Pochetino has done with Spurs is amazing and if he can keep his side on this pace, they will rule England come May 2017.
Tottenham 2 Vs Manchester City 0: Welcome to England, Guardiola
After losing his first league game as Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola can say he has been welcomed to the Premier League.
After taking maximum points from their first six games, City were already crowned champions of the Premier League. But this is not how things work in English football and Guardiola himself has gotten a taste of it.
In City first true test in England, Guardiola’s team was flat and uninspiring. John Stones looked lost,  the midfield pairing of Fernandinho and Fernando was not mobile enough while David Silva had a game to forget.
Guardiola has gotten his first taste of how the Premier League works and that will sure make him very uncomfortable.
