Ikeja to experience 4-day blackout

The areas which will be affected are Alausa, Ikeja Shopping Mall, Allen Avenue, Ogundana, Alade and Aromire.

The management of Ikeja Electric has warned residents of the area to expect a four-day blackout.

The power interruption, which will occur from September 2 – 5, 2015, is necessary to enable the company carry out replacement and upgrade of its equipment at the Alausa injection substation.

This was disclosed via a statement released on Sunday, August 30, by the Head, Communication Strategy, Ikeja Electric, Pekun Adeyanju.

The statement reads in part:

“All efforts will be made to restore power on September 6, 2015. Ikeja Electric appeals to the affected communities and thank you for your understanding and cooperation whilst we carry out the work”
