The musician signed an agreement with Putnam, an imprint of Penguin, to pen four new books for young readers, starting with one inspired by his hit song, Billboard reports.

A 250,000-copy run of Happy will feature photographs of children from around the world "celebrating what it means to be happy."

"I'm so proud of my collaboration with Penguin and to be able to share my book Happy! with all the young readers out there," Williams said about the project, which will be released Oct. 6.

"I love what I do and am grateful to all the people who felt that 'Happy' resonated with them. My hope is that this book inspires a child's imagination and creativity and that it teaches the importance of being happy and true to yourself." The 41-year-old singer-songwriter and father of a six-year-old boy said.

Pharrell originally released "Happy" in 2013 as part of the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack, the song became a hit and topped the Hot 100 in March 2014, where it remained for 10 straight weeks.

Happy" also earned Pharrell an Oscar nomination in 2014 for Best Original Song, and this year it won two Grammys: Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Music Video.

Putnam, an imprint of Penguin, is no stranger to inspirational works by Grammy award-winners: it also published Dolly Parton’s children’s book I Am a Rainbow, which urged readers to to “dream more, learn more, care more, and be more”.
