New Chelsea forward Pedro was today, Monday, August 23 given his official send-off by Barcelona.

The forward hurriedly left Spain for London to sign for Chelsea and prepare for the league game against West Brom, leaving him with no time to say his goodbyes to Barcelona fans.

At a press conference put together by Barcelona, the forward was given a rapturous send off by his former team-mates.

Leo Messi, Neymar, Gerard Pique, sergio busquets, JordiAlba, AndresIniesta were among 20 players who were present at the press conference.

He was accompanied by his wife Carolina and their two-year-old son Bryan.

At the press conference, Pedro expressed his sadness at leaving the club but assured fans that Barcelona won't be affected by his departure.

"I'm sad to be leaving this great group but I want to play," Pedro said.

"I knew that I could stay here and that if I did I would have been fine but I knew there was also an option to leave. Saying goodbye to my marvellous team-mates is the hardest thing. I been here for ten years and it's a strange situation."

Pedro spent 10 years at Barcelona, wining 20 trophies.

Pedro in his 10 years at Barcelona, played 321 games, scored 99 goals and won 20 trophies  before last Thursday’s move to Chelsea.
