Following NFF’s announcement on Monday, July 18 that Le Guen is the new Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles, the Frenchman revealed he does not have a deal with Nigeria.
Le Guen told French journalist, Herve Penot that he had a chat with president of the NFF, Pinnick and told him he wasn't interested in the job.
Reacting to the development, NFF president claimed that the Frenchman has not been officially appointed.
“It (Le Guen’s appointment) was not announced as a done deal,” Pinnick wrote on Twitter responding to a question about the situation.
“If the Technical Committee recommended a coach subject to contractual and other agreements doesn’t mean he is the coach.
“Assuming he says he doesn’t want to live in Nigeria or cannot meet our target for WC qualification, should we still go ahead?” Pinnick asked.
The NFF in their announcement started that the ‘appointment is subject to agreement of contract terms with the Executive Committee.’
