The 35-year-old played from start to finish in the game and scored with a fierce striker from outside the area.

The goal was Odemwingie’s third in four league appearances for Madura United who are now sixth on the Indonesia Liga 1 season.

Madura United have seven points after four games, just three points adrift of leaders PSM Makassar.

Madura United will next play Perseru Serui on Monday, May 8.

Odemwingie joined Madura United ahead of the start of the 2017 Indonesia Liga 1 season.

Before moving to Indonesia, Odemwingie said he spoke to Ghanaian great who had already moved over there to play for Persib Bandung.

"I had no idea what it's like here but I had a brief chat with Michael Essien and he gave me positive feedback," Odemwingie told

"These are exciting times for Indonesian football and I'm happy to be a part of it,"

Osaze’s new side Madura United finished third in the league last season and are based in Pamekasan, Madura, East Java.
