Osasuna and Real Betis played out a 1-1 draw in their La Liga matchday 31 encounter. Ez Abde opened the scoring in the 7th minute, but Ante Budimir equalized from the penalty spot in the 40th.
The game started brightly for the visitors from Seville, who took the lead just seven minutes in through their Moroccan winger, Abde. This came after a lightning-fast counter-attack, where the wide player was brilliantly played through, showcased his pace, and fired a powerful shot from the edge of the box, leaving Herrera with no chance. The Basque side came agonizingly close to leveling five minutes before halftime when the visiting goalkeeper barely managed to tip a header onto the post. Moments after this near-miss, a rather contentious penalty was awarded to Osasuna, which Budimir converted to draw his side level.
In the 64th minute, Osasuna appealed for a second penalty, but the referee waved away their claims. In the final minute of regular time, Raúl García of the home side squandered a golden opportunity, receiving a well-placed ball in the box but shooting weakly.
Betis currently sit fifth in the league table with 46 points, but are now on a run of eight consecutive La Liga matches without a win. Osasuna's situation isn't much better; they are ninth with 39 points and have gone six games without a victory.
