According to a statement by the NBC, which is the government agency in charge of broadcasting regulation, the song was banned from being played on the airwaves for its “obscenity, being indecent, vulgar languages, lewd and profane expressions like ‘Wa gba ponron’, ‘I just want to hit you now’, ‘Je kin wo be…”
The song in question has also been in the news of recent following the claims by D’banj’s producer Deevee that the rapper Olamide stole a part of the song from them.
The NBC had some time last year also placed a NTBB (Not to be broadcast) label ban on about 18 popular songs such as Davido’s ‘Fans Mi’, Lil Kesh’s ‘Gbese’ and Wizkid’s‘In my bed’ amongst others.
