Super Eagles midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi has been given a two-match ban for his red card in Nigeria's 2-0 defeat of Chad in Kaduna by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The Lazio of Italy midfielder was shown the red card in the 78th minute from referee Ibrahim Mamane after a violent conduct against a Chadian defender.
“for the violent conduct, player No.17 Eddy Ogenyi Onazi was expelled and he is automatically suspended for his next 2 official matches: 39 – Tanzania Vs Nigeria and 66: Nigeria Vs Egypt,” a letter from CAF to the Nigeria Football Federation states:
