The Championship club has also confirmed the signing of the 26-year-old shot-stopper, who returns to England after previous stints with Arsenal, Reading, and Everton.
João Virgínia leaves Alvalade after just one season, during which he made eight appearances. He had also previously played for the Lions on loan from Everton in the 2021/22 campaign.
The goalkeeper's transfer brings in €1.5 million for the green and white SAD, with an additional €1 million contingent on performance-related objectives.
