SC Braga has officially announced the signing of Spanish central defender Sergio Barcia from Legia Warsaw in Poland. The 25-year-old has penned a four-year deal, tying him to the club until 2030, and is protected by a release clause set at €40 million.
The transfer cost the Minho-based SAD €1.5 million. The player, who has already completed his routine medical examinations, immediately joined the squad under the guidance of coach Carlos Vicens.
A native of Vigo, Sergio Barcia came through the ranks at Celta, before spells at clubs such as Ourense, Granada, and Mirandés. It was during his time at Mirandés that he caught the eye of Legia, for whom he scored two goals in 15 appearances during the 2024/25 season.
Last season, the defender was on loan from the Polish club to Las Palmas, where he established himself as a defensive linchpin in their successful push for promotion to LaLiga.
