Marítimo announced on Wednesday the departure of Noah Madsen to German club Holstein Kiel.
The 24-year-old Danish center-back leaves the Madeiran club after five seasons (three with the senior squad). Last season, he played a crucial role in the islanders' successful Liga 2 campaign, which culminated in the title and their subsequent return to Portugal's top football tier.
"Marítimo informs that an agreement has been reached with Holstein Kiel for the transfer of Noah Madsen, which includes a fixed fee, performance-based bonuses, and the green-and-red club retaining a percentage of any future transfer," read the statement from Marítimo, which did not disclose the financial details of the deal.
Madsen has signed a contract with Holstein Kiel, who compete in the German second division, until June 2030.
