Fiorentina has officially announced the acquisition of Tottenham defender Radu Drăgușin. The deal is structured as a loan worth €1.5 million. Should the Romanian international play at least 45 minutes in a minimum of 22 league matches during the upcoming campaign, the Viola will be obligated to purchase him for an additional €17.5 million. The player himself has signed a contract until the summer of 2031, reportedly earning €2 million per season.
This transfer marks Drăgușin's return to Serie A, where he has previously played for four different teams: Juventus, Sampdoria, Salernitana, and Genoa, who sold him to Tottenham for €28 million two and a half years ago. However, the central defender only managed 48 appearances for the Spurs, as the 24-year-old spent a significant period recovering from a torn cruciate ligament in one of his knees.
