Ighalo opened the scoring in the 12th minute of the game, getting on to a cross from Jiang Zhie to finish in the near post.

He added another goal in the 60th minute, shooting past the Henan Jianye goalkeeper from a Li Guang cross from the byline .

With that 2-1 win, Changchun Yatai moved up to 10th place in the CSL. They will host bottom placed Yanbian Fude in their next CSL game on Sunday, August 13.

Also in China, Tianjin TEDA - who have two Nigerians John Mikel Obi and Brown Ideye- suffered a 3-1 loss away at Yanbian Fude.

Obafemi Martin’s Shanghai Shenhua lost 3-0 at home to Guizhou Zhicheng to add more misery to manager Gus Poyet who is facing intense pressure.

The defeat left Shenhua 11th in the 16-team CSL and fans have started to call for the sack of the former Sunderland coach.
