Hayne quit rugby league to realise an ambition of playing in the NFL and signed with the San Francisco 49ers in March.

An impressive preseason saw Hayne make the 49ers' final 53-man roster for the regular season.

However, Hayne was waived by San Francisco in October before being re-signed to the 49ers' practice squad, fuelling talk of a potential NRL comeback.

Penrith Panthers and Sydney Roosters have both been linked with Hayne, a two-time winner of the NRL's Dally M Medal given to the player of the year during his time with Parramatta Eels.

But Hayne's manager Wayne Beavis told Rugby League Week: "I spoke to him this afternoon [Thursday].

"The conversation about him coming home has never taken place.

"He told me he's definitely staying. That's it, end of story. There isn't a decision to make, that's what he's telling me.

"Every club [in the NRL] is ringing me up saying if he comes home, we're interested. That's only natural. It doesn't mean he's coming back."
