Plateau United win to remain on top, Enyimba thump El Kanemi

Emmanuel James netted the only goal from the penalty spot in the 62nd minute to give Plateau United the win.

MFM FC beat Sunshine Stars 2-1 at the Agege Stadium to move to second on the table.

Tchato Giscard opened scoring with a brilliant goal in the 27th minute to put MFM FC a goal up.

Giscard received a pass from Okorom at the edge of the box and while he was expected to cross from that angle, he volleyed the ball brilliantly much to the surprise of Sunshine Stars keeper, Henry Ayodele.

NPFL leading goalscorer Stephen Odey doubled MFM FC’s lead from the penalty spot for his 16th of the season.

An Austine Opara shot was pushed by the Sunshine Stars keeper but Sikiru Olatunbosun pounced on the rebound which was handled by a Sunshine player.

Odey converted the penalty with just 11 minutes to go. Sunshine got a late goal from the penalty spot by Ajibola Otegbeye.

Enyimba thumped 10-man El Kanemi Warriors 4-0 at the UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar to move to third on the table.
