Nottingham Forest Coach: Three Points Would Have Been Better Than One

There was a mix of satisfaction and frustration following Nottingham Forest's 1-1 draw with Aston Villa in the Premier League at the City Ground on Sunday. The result edged the hosts closer to safety but denied the visitors a crucial win in their pursuit of a Champions League spot next season. For Forest manager Vítor Pereira, it marked another step forward in their survival bid, as they now sit three points clear of the relegation zone.

“It was a good point in a tough game against a very difficult opponent,” Pereira told Sky Sports.

“Ultimately, one point is a good result. Villa is a team that isn't easy to control. They create some problems, and we try to face those problems and create our own chances. Three points would have been better than one. We tried, but we faced a strong team, and we are still five games unbeaten in all competitions,” he added.

Pereira praised the efforts of striker Chris Wood, who returned from injury to make his first Premier League appearance since October.

“His experience, qualities, goal-scoring ability – he has a nose for goals in the box. His physical and mental condition, he has the ability to help us,” the manager stated.
