Since 2013, the Nollywood Week Festival, an initiative of the Okada Media Association, has offered the Parisian public the opportunity to view Nollywood movies.
The fifth edition of The Nollywood Week Festival has been announced to kick off on Thursday May 11 to Sunday May 14, 2017, at Cinema l’Arlequin in Paris, France.
This year's selection reflects the diversity of genres that make up the Nigerian film industry.
“The Wedding Party," "Dinner," "76," "Green White Green," "Gidi Blues" and "The Catch" have been announced as official selections for the festival.
This year, five movies are in the running to win the prestigious People’s Choice Award.
In 2016, Omoni Oboli's "The First Lady" won the People's Choice Award.
As the winner, Omoni received lens support worth over 30,000 euros for her next production.
Past winners of the prestigious award include "The Figurine," "The Meeting," and "Dazzling Mirage.
