According to a Twitter profile @iammrzone who shared the clip with Pulse, the man reportedly assaulted the victim because he refused to respond to him. It is a reminder of many reports of brutality against civilian by persons in the armed forces.

Local policemen are also not an exception. Many have proved to be a misrepresentation of what the force should stand for with their aggression against innocent citizens mostly unprovoked. Thanks to an ongoing police reform, maybe that may see an end.

In this video, another army officer had an slight expression of amusement while his colleague beat up a motorcyclist witnesses claim had done nothing.

"This stupid Army man decided to beat the Keke driver because he spoke to him and the keke driver ignored him," the Twitter angrily condemns.

While the uncontrollable soldier attacked the civilian, the latter dressed in a yellow Ankara hurried away from him. And he should. Soldiers are supposed to be servicemen highly trained in the act of combat. Confronting one or being attacked one could be life threatening.

The incumbent President of Nigerian Muhammadu Buhari has often confirmed his commitment to providing adequate security in the country. Boko Haram is a major threat in the northeast as many lives are still being lost to the insurgents.

 On Monday, January 28, 2019, the Nigerian army troops reportedly abandoned their duties on allowing the terrorists to freely charge at defenceless civilians in Rann, Borno State. The victims are reportedly survivors from former raids.

The quality to display basic etiquette and concern to the human race should be a parameter to be checked when accepting volunteers to guard the nation from external forces and within.
