'Every Soul Shall taste Doom' by Ahmad Abdullah
What I must say is true
A confession within the confines of necessity
That I love you and don’t know why
And I also love several others like you
Except that I love you more
In a way I can hardly contain
I know I’ll hate you at times
When common sense hassles me
At the thoughts of others that creep into my head
To steal off my faithfulness to you
So I’ve trapped myself
With my eyes as open as the midday sun upon the earth
There is no trick here
No charm I am aware of
That compels me unnaturally to you
My confession is easy
It is as obvious as death itself,
The certainty of it
That I am forever doomed
To love you
If death parts us in this life
My spirit will linger awaiting yours
On the borders of eternity
Where the souls of doomed love resides
Tormented.
