This annual awards was inspired by the recognition of the tremendous explosion of the use of the internet as a tool for business and and everyday task and interaction in Nigeria.

The dotcom awards was the very first comprehensive effort in Nigeria and indeed in Africa to recognize the impact of the internet by honouring excellence and innovations in 25 critical areas including Websites, Interactive Advertising & Media, Online Film & Video, Mobile & Application and Social Web.
