According to a statement from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the N10M will help the NWFL to pay the insurances of match officials.
"We are happy for this lifeline from the League Management Company. This gesture has come as part of the NFF’s promise to take the Women’s League, and the entire women football sector, to a new level,” the NFF said in the statement.
"We want to commend the NFF and the LMC for this, and I can assure you that the second round of the season will commence this weekend, with all the teams that started the season.”
The Ad-hoc committee of the NWFL have now sprung into actions, rescheduling all the matches that were not played for one reason or the other.
According to the Chairman of the committee, Babagana Kalli, rescheduled games will be played in midweek while the regular matches come up during the weekends.
The likes of Nasarawa Amazons, Tokas Queens and Capital City Doves, Cerezo Queens and State House Queens who lost their slots for failing to honour three matches in the current season have now been restored to the League.
