Kano Pillars return, FC Taraba on top after match day 2

The Nigeria Premier League defending champions were back in action with a win on the match day two

Their game of the season was postponed last week after undefined to Owerri to face Heartland FC .

Five of their players were injured from the attacks, but Kano Pillars showed that they have recovered by that trauma by trashing visiting Bayelsa United by two goals to nothing.

Adamu Mohammed and Ubong Ekpai scored to give win the match for Kano Pillars.

After their 3-2 home victory over Rangers FC in theundefinedNigeria Premier League, FC Taraba raced to the top of the league with a lone goal victory away at Akwa.

The visitor's goal was scored by scored by Usman Mohammed in the 29th minute.

FC Taraba sit atop the log with six points from two games.

Two players of the Akwa United -who impressively drew at Enyimba on the first day- were given the marching orders for unsporting conduct.

After their defeat against league leaders, FC Taraba last week, Rangers FC scored two goals subjected Sharks to their second successive defeat of the new season.

Nasarawa United bounced back to winning ways after they were beaten by El-Kanemi by trashing visitors Wikki Tourists by two goals to nothing.

Esosa Igbinoba and Ibrahim Ibrahim scored in both halves to give Nasarawa united their first win of the season.

Kwara United got their first win of the season after coming out tops by 2-1 against the visiting El Kanemi Warriors.

Goals from Evans Iyoro and Segun Alebiosu in the 16th and 35th minutes handed them victory at the Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin.

The Shooting Stars of Ibadan continued their woeful streak as they lost at home to Heartland FC of Owerri whose game against Kano Pillars was postponed last week.

Heartland opened scoring in the 16th minute through Ebere Odiche before 3SC equalised in the 66th minute through Taofeek Adepoju.
