Kano Pillars return, FC Taraba on top after match day 2

The Nigeria Premier League defending champions were back in action with a win on the match day two

After their 3-2 home victory over Rangers FC in theundefinedNigeria Premier League, FC Taraba raced to the top of the league with a lone goal victory away at Akwa.

Esosa Igbinoba and Ibrahim Ibrahim scored in both halves to give Nasarawa united their first win of the season.

Kwara United got their first win of the season after coming out tops by 2-1 against the visiting El Kanemi Warriors.

Goals from Evans Iyoro and Segun Alebiosu in the 16th and 35th minutes handed them victory at the Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin.

The Shooting Stars of Ibadan continued their woeful streak as they lost at home to Heartland FC of Owerri whose game against Kano Pillars was postponed last week.

Heartland opened scoring in the 16th minute through Ebere Odiche before 3SC equalised in the 66th minute through Taofeek Adepoju.

Jimoh Oni scored the winner for Heartland FC in the dying minutes of the game.
