The Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced that it intercepted a Mack truck loaded with boxes of Pump Action Rifles.

There were 49 boxes containing 661 pieces of Pump Action Rifles lining the large container, Customs officials say.
The truck was intercepted at the Apapa-Mile 2 axis of the nation's commercial capital.
According to Col. Hameed Ali, who is the Comptroller General of Customs, investigations are ongoing.

Col Ali added that some suspects have been arrested.
Nigeria is battling small arms proliferation in the Niger Delta and in the North East of Nigeria where militants and insurgents have been wreaking havoc.
