Urlive Stream went into massive online campaign ahead of the friendly game which held in The Hive (home ground of BarnetFootballClub in London).

The streaming website for days campaigned for interested subscribers to log on to their website and register to watch the game. I ignored initially until I learnt that no TV station would show game.

Then I subscribed, it was just N500.

I was however shocked when I logged into the website at kickoff only to see trailers of Nollywood movies playing. Maybe there are trying to fix it, I said to myself.

20 minutes into the game, nothing.

Then I went on Twitter and saw several other complaints. That was when I realised we had been ‘scammed’.

Why campaign for days for subscribers to pay money only to fail them on the day. This was planned.

Urlive Stream planned to scam us from day one and this is painful for me. Not because I will die without that N500 but because they did this with the help of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

The NFF also helped in the campaign that drove people to subscribe. In the match banner found on their official Twitter and Instagram pages, the federation included the website ‘www.urlivestream.com’.

It’s almost 24 hours after the game and we have no words yet from the NFF. Pulse Sports could not reach any of the top NFF officials who are all currently in London.

On their website, Urlive Stream released a short apology; “Dear Esteemed Customers, We regret our inability to broadcast this match, this is as a result of technical hitches experience in getting the signals to us by our London Technical Partners.

“Please be assured that FULL REFUND of fees paid via this platform to watch the match will be made within the next 7 working days. Once again, We are really SORRY.”

So they said we will be refunded, so I wait, until then I insist they scammed me. I will write another piece when they pay me.

Pulse Sports have also reached out to UrLive Stream for answers to several questions about their website and what happened with the Nigeria Vs Senegal friendly. Their answers will be published if they respond.

Meanwhile, I got to watch the Super Eagles game on Facebook Live, thanks to a couple of people (names withheld) who were kind enough to go through that stress to film the game for us.

Someone on Twitter mentioned that they were a couple of very unclear videos on Facebook, so I quickly jumped there and started watching the game.

The first video I saw was from a girl, a nice view she was filming from. I was enjoying it until about seven minutes later, a fight broke out between her and a guy (her boyfriend) over a test message he saw on her phone.

They were talking in Nigerian Pidgin English.

I got another video, this time from a girl who was running some funny commentaries.

I watched Moussa Sow goal for Senegal in the second half and Kelechi Iheanacho’s equaliser for the Super Eagles from the penalty spot.
