Following the game, "Los Cafeteros" head coach Nestor Lorenzo did not hide his regret over the outcome. He emphasized that his team was the more active side on the pitch, but a lack of clinical finishing proved decisive.

"Undoubtedly, we lacked a goal. We knew it would be a very tense, tactical, and evenly matched game. But I think over 90 minutes, we deserved a bit more, given our intentions and the shots we took," Lorenzo stated.

"We had 15 attempts. That's a lot, and if we don't score, we have to pay the price. There's no one to blame here. Sometimes the ball goes in, and sometimes it doesn't," the specialist added.

The coach's words are supported by the official match statistics. The Colombians finished the game with a total of 15 attacking efforts compared to just 7 for Murat Yakin's side. However, only 3 of those attempts were on target, testing Gregor Kobel in goal.

Colombia's Expected Goals (xG) stood at 1.188, while Switzerland generated a mere 0.35, clearly indicating which team created the better chances.
