Portugal defender Nélson Semedo shared his emotions following the national team's World Cup exit after a 1-0 loss to Spain in the Round of 16. A major talking point of the evening was Cristiano Ronaldo's departure, marking his final match for the "Navigators." Semedo stated it was an honor to have played alongside a footballer of such caliber and that he would one day tell his grandchildren about it.

"Cristiano Ronaldo spoke to the team at the end, and we can only thank him. He confirmed this was his last World Cup. He is a pillar for the country, for Portugal, and in a few years, I'll be fortunate enough to tell my grandchildren that I played with him for the national team," the defender began.

"Obviously, we are sad about the elimination. We wanted to advance past this round and go as far as possible in this World Cup. Unfortunately, it wasn't possible. There are matches that don't go our way, and we couldn't capitalize on our qualities on the pitch," Semedo added.
