In the Eastern Conference, the Detroit Pistons secured the top spot with a 60-22 record, followed by the Boston Celtics at 56-26. Both teams have earned direct qualification to the playoffs and now await their opponents from the play-in tournament.

Out West, the Oklahoma City Thunder claimed the top seed, finishing the season with an impressive 64-18 record. The San Antonio Spurs took second place at 62-20, while the Denver Nuggets rounded out the top three with a 54-28 record.

The Los Angeles Lakers completed the top four in the Western Conference, finishing with a 53-29 record, thus securing home-court advantage for the first round of the playoffs.
