Africa's biggest economy slipped into recession in 2015, following a slump in the global price of oil and a weakened currency.
Shehuri who was speaking in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, said the signs pointing to an economic recovery, look good thus far.
“We are slowly going out of recession", he said. "Nigerians should be rest assured that the economy is being well managed. Government is focused on revamping the economy. Corruption is being tackled head-on".

The Minister also sued for patience from Nigerians with the Muhammadu Buhari administration.
“Nigerians need to be patient considering the circumstances Nigeria was in when this government assumed office,” Shehuri said.
