According to the Daily Post, Sergeant Oriyomi Akinwale, the prosecutor in the case, stated that Johnson committed the crime on July 3, 2016, at Erio-Ekiti in Ekiti West Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
News gathered also mentioned that Julianah declined to have sexual intercourse with her husband because she does not wish to get pregnant.
She had already given birth to seven children at the time.
Johnson however had his way with the deceased by beating her to the point where she could no longer resist.
The application of force soon led to his wife's death and his subsequent arrest by the police.
Akinwale noted that the crime contravenes Section 319(1) of the Criminal Code, Cap C 16, Laws of Ekiti State. 2012.
Taiwo Ajibade, the court magistrate has adjourned the case till September 12, 2016, while the accused remains in prison.
