Moses Simon, Cyriel Dessers send final messages to Nigerians before Sao Tome & Principe qualifier
Super Eagles forwards Moses Simon and Cyriel Dessers have sent parting messages to Nigerians ahead of their AFCON 2023 Qualifiers clash with Sao Tome & Principe.
Both forwards stressed the need for a victory over the football minnows in a bid to build on their 2-1 victory over Sierra Leone on the opening day of the qualifiers.
The Super Eagles landed in Morocco early on Sunday morning where the clash with Sao Tome & Principe is scheduled to hold on Monday, June 13.
Simon asks for prayers for Super Eagles
Whilst speaking to NFF TV, both Nigerian internationals were optimistic about picking up the maximum points against Sao Tome & Principe on Monday to make it two wins out of two in the qualifying round.

Nantes winger Simon particularly asked Nigerians to pray for the Super Eagles so they can win the match. He also assured that the team would give it their best as always to grab all three points.
Simon said: "Hello guys, just pray for us you know, so, we can win the game. You know We are going out there and surely we will give it all off our best."
Simon was the architect of Nigeria's 2-1 victory over Sierra Leone the last time out, providing assists for Alex Iwobi and Victor Osimhen to cancel out the Leone Stars' 11th-minute opener.
Sao Tome & Principe game very important for Super Eagles - Dessers
On the other hand, KRC Genk striker Dessers was optimistic that the Eagles can build on Friday's victory to power them past their next opponents.
The 27-year-old striker also stressed that a victory against Sao Tome & Principe is important to give the three-time African champions a good start to the qualifying round.
"We have started well and we want to continue that way, because there’s five more games to go. So, Monday will be an important game, if you can get a win there then it’s a really good start," Dessers said.
The Genk forward will be hoping to break into coach Jose Peseiro's starting XI against Sao Tome & Principe after being left on the bench for the duo of Osimhen and Sadiq Umar in the match against Sierra Leone.
