A breakdown of the amount means that the Senators, all 106 of them, will pocket N21 million to refurbish their wardrobes while the House of Representatives members would get around N17 million each.

Almost everyone in the country was aghast at this monstrosity of the amount involved in a country where the masses of the population have been subjected to humiliating levels of poverty and sorrow.

With over 18 states owing their workers and the sufferings Nigerians have experienced in the past 16 years of democratic experiment, with the high level of corruption that the ruling class has exhibited, it would not be out of place for the masses to expect something different from this new NASS.

But to be confronted with this news is quite disheartening to most Nigerians.
