A video clip surfaced online which shows Salah handling his phone while driving which has since gone viral.
Salah who reside in Merseyside has since been then under scrutiny for his actions despite his star status on the field of play.
The Egypt International who featured for 88 minutes in the encounter is shown in the video holding his phone while in traffic.
His actions are against the driving laws in the United Kingdom despite the traffic lights stopped and people queuing.
Liverpool have already taken a lead role in the whole process as they have contacted the police authority about the issue.
In a statement by a spokesperson, Liverpool confirmed that the are aware of the incident and are taking the necessary steps with the police and the player.
Th statement read, “The club, after discussion with the player, have made Merseyside Police aware of the footage and the circumstances surrounding its capture.
“We have spoken to the player also and will deal with any follow-up internally. Neither the club or player will be making any further comment on this matter.”
The Merseyside Police also released a statement to affirm that they are equally on top of the issue and the necessary sanctions will be imposed.
The statement read, “We have been made aware of a video believed to show a footballer using a mobile phone whilst driving.
“This has been passed to the relevant department. penalties for using a phone while driving can include up to six points on the drivers’ license and a fine of £200.”
Salah who is now Liverpool’s highest paid player is expected to return to action when Jurgen Klopp’s side take on Crystal Palace in their next Premier League fixture scheduled for Monday, August 20.
