Arsenal midfielder Mikel Merino believes the Gunners have all the attributes needed to fight for a historic quadruple this season. The north London side preserved their flawless Champions League run with a commanding 3-0 victory over French outfit Lille at Emirates Stadium.

Goals from Jurrien Timber, Eberechi Eze, and Bukayo Saka sealed another routine win for Mikel Arteta's men. The result marked Arsenal’s 14th consecutive victory in the group/league phase of Europe’s elite competition. Having suffered heartbreak in last season's final against Paris Saint-Germain, the Gunners are driven to go one step further and lift the trophy this term.

Merino, making just his second start across all competitions this season, reflected on the squad's soaring ambitions after the final whistle.

“Our winning run is incredible, and we know we are making history in this competition. At the same time, we appreciate just how tough it is to win these games, which is why we place so much value on what this team is achieving,” the Spain international told Sky Sports.

When asked if pursuing four trophies in a single campaign is a realistic target, Merino was unequivocal:

“Absolutely. That’s our mentality and that is the main goal. Last season we came so close, and it proved to us that we are fully ready. Our aim is to triumph in the Champions League, the Premier League—to win everything. That’s what the manager wants, that’s what the fans want, and as players, we want the exact same thing. Now it’s all about the fine details and making sure we stay focused and deliver in the decisive moments.”
