One or two thieves scaled the property wall, taking advantage of the coach's absence. They gained entry to the house through a window, making off with several items of clothing from the prestigious Louis Vuitton brand, as well as some jewelry. Beye joins a growing list of Marseille coaches and players who have faced similar issues, including Lucho González and Vitorino Hilton (2011), former director Günter Jacob (2016), Dimitri Payet (2017), former president Jacques-Henri Eyraud (2019), Valentin Rongier (2021), and Sead Kolašinac (2023).
