The world champion started second on the Japanese circuit and seized the lead as early as Turn 2, going on to take the win by over two seconds. After the race, the Ducati rider revealed that his team made a minor setup tweak before the start, vowing to deliver another dominant performance in Sunday's main race in the Land of the Rising Sun.
"Yes, of course, it went according to plan. The goal was the front row in qualifying because we knew that would be crucial for a good result in the Sprint. We made a slight setup adjustment for the Sprint, and I felt much better on the bike. I felt comfortable leading from the front. I did my job today, and I'll look to do it again tomorrow," Marquez said.
