Manchester United's Defensive Woes Deepen Further

Leny Yoro has also been sidelined with an injury, ruling him out of Manchester United's clash against Chelsea on Saturday evening, as reported by journalist Samuel Luckhurst. The 20-year-old Frenchman is the fourth central defender from the Old Trafford squad to miss the London encounter. Matthijs de Ligt is injured, while Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire are suspended. This leaves manager Michael Carrick with only one natural center-back, 19-year-old Aidan Heaven, available for selection.

Yoro did not even travel to the capital, with his injury problem emerging today. Just hours earlier, during his press conference, Carrick had discussed the potential defensive partnership between Yoro and Heaven.

Consequently, the defenders in Manchester United's squad for the derby, besides Heaven, are Luke Shaw, Diogo Dalot, Noussair Mazraoui, and Tyrell Malacia, all of whom are primarily full-backs.
