Red Star has reached a verbal agreement with Chris Jones, though nothing has been signed yet, nor will it be until the EuroLeague season concludes, Sportal has confirmed.
The American guard, who also holds an Armenian passport, is set to join the Belgrade squad next season.
Jones will, of course, replace Codi Miller-McIntyre, who has reportedly finalized his move to Olympiacos. Sport Klub reports that the red-and-whites will bring in two players to fill Miller-McIntyre's shoes.
Stefan Miljenović is expected to take on a significantly larger role next year, with Jones and another player completing the point guard trio. The identity of the third player remains to be seen.
Jones has been considered one of Europe's top point guards for many years. He is a highly experienced player, having competed in the EuroLeague since the 2020/2021 season. He did not play in the EuroLeague last season as Valencia participated in the EuroCup. This season, he averages 9.7 points, two rebounds, and 4.2 assists in 20 minutes per game, primarily coming off the bench.
