The highly anticipated bout between Jan Blachowicz and Bogdan Guskov has been called off. Guskov has been tapped as a last-minute replacement for Khalil Rountree and will now face Magomed Ankalaev at the upcoming UFC event in Abu Dhabi.
This unexpected change presents a significant challenge for organizers, with just over two weeks remaining until the Belgrade spectacle. Finding a suitable, ranked opponent for Blachowicz on such short notice is proving difficult.
Several options are currently under consideration. One possibility is for Blachowicz to remain on the Belgrade card, potentially facing an unranked fighter or a new UFC talent. Another option is to postpone his appearance to a future UFC event. A final decision is still pending.
This marks the second alteration to the Belgrade fight card. Previously, the clash between Ante Delija and Johnny Walker was also canceled after the Croatian fighter withdrew due to an injury sustained during training.
